Tools used: Charcoal, Graphite, Photoshop
I was looking over my old work and came across part of my final project for my first figure drawing class I took back in 2008. The first part was to draw from a live model we had come in the week before finals week and the second part was to using what we've learned over the past semester and try to create something from our imagination (refs were recommended of course). I never got around to finishing the background for it, and I don't think I had the technical ability finish my idea by hand back then either. After seeing this I was inspired to try to 'finish' it digitally, and I think I'm finally able to say its 'complete'.
A funny thing is that my art teacher asked me after seeing it if I didn't use a reference for the face, and he was right. I couldn't understand why he said it felt off but looking at it now he was totally right, but nothing a bit of photoshop magic can't fix eight years later.
I originally had my RobotCat stamp on it but it looked really out of place, so I went with a sort of sci-fi movie poster font instead, which seems to fit a lot better.
